What? American pale ale brewed by Black Market Brewing, with a 5.8% ABV and plenty of hops.
This is a pretty beer with a nice full head of foam that stays until the end. It boasts some really great hoppy smells with clean and beautiful citrus, dankness, grassyness and resiny aromas and some tropical fruitiness. Flavor is good too. However I have to say it has little in terms of balance. It's nothing but bitter (at times unconfortably so, almost astringent), has very little malt backbone (far less than its color would suggest) and a somewhat thin body for my taste. It makes it seem like it's a bit lost in no man's land. If you're going to do this, just go all out and make it an IPA.
