The very busy weekend of the 23rd and 24th of November, a craft beer festival will take place in New York City.
The New York City Craft Beer Festival Winter Harvest will host over 75 breweries, each bringing two of their beers to showcase their seasonals for the fall and winter season.
The festival will be divided into three sessions, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
There will be three types of tickets available for purchase, so bear with me.
First, the general admission tickets, which will cost $55 in advance and $65 regular and at the door. This ticket will include a tasting glass and unlimited 2 oz. tastings of the roughly 150 beers available. These are however sold out for the first session on Saturday.
Then, there's the VIP tickets at $75 a pop in advance, or $85 regular and at the door, which will include, aside from the above, the right to enter an hour earlier to each of the sessions and thus have one more hour to taste the beers before the general public comes in.
Finally, there's the connoisseurs tickets which, at $125 if you buy in advance, or $135 if you miss out on these, give you the right, on top of the above, to a private lounge where you can mingle with brewery reps, try special selections and enjoy some free hors d'oeuvres.
Don't worry though, food will in any case be available for purchase for those who are not connoisseurs.
Other activities for those who decide to take a break from their busy tasting agenda will include shopping, with a host of retail vendors present on site, and seminars on such topics as pairings, beer cocktails and the beer business.
Once the fun is over in the Saturday session there will be an official afterparty taking place in the One Mile House down at the Bowery (10 Delancey St.). Starting at 6:30 pm, anyone showing up with a ticket or a Winter Harvest glass can get a 16 oz. pour for $5. Definitely sounds like a plan.
