Next weekend is the Barcelona Beer Festival, one of the oldest and probably the most renowned craft beer festival in Spain.

This third edition will take place in the Sala Marqués de Comillas of the Maritime Museum and will span the whole weekend.

Friday morning and the early afternoon will be dedicated to professionals of the beer sector. It will give them the opportunity to attend four presentations on matters as diverse as brewing equipment and taxes.

The rest of the weekend, the BBF will be open to the public in general and will host beer tastings and gastronomical and cultural activities of several sorts.

Entrance to the festival will cost €7 and will come with a tasting glass, two chips and a guide to the festival and other venues around Barcelona where craft beer can be found. In order to be able to taste the beers, you will have to buy the festival's chips in order to pay for them. Each chip will represent a Euro and prices of each beer will vary.

The festival will have a long bar with some 50 taps where over 300 beers will be on offer in the course of the weekend. There will also be another stand called Meet the Brewer where, obviously, you will get to meet the different brewers and try their beers on a more individual level.

These brewers will mostly come from Spain and Europe (Guineu, Birra del Olmo and BrewDog will be present for example), although the Brewers Association will also attend, as will Meet the Rocker, Marky Ramone's brewing project.

The festival will be rounded up with a bunch of stands offering different sorts of cheese, Asian inspired tapas and even full on plates.
